Sarah Colomé (she/her) is a California raised and Illinois-based scholar-practitioner, advocate, educator, and author who brings a passion for collective liberation to all aspects of her work. As a practitioner who has benefited from intentional communities, she aims to work alongside partners who strive to move beyond compliance-based diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts,
toward futures that prioritize the holistic wellbeing of individuals, teams, and communities.
Her experience spans sectors, most recently serving as the Director of the Women’s Resources Center at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Here, she oversaw the Center’s three key divisions of Gender Equity, Sexual Misconduct Prevention, and Advocacy and Support. Illinois provided Sarah with the space to creatively actualize hooks’ margin-to-center approach through the creation of the Embedded Confidential Advisor Model, her course instruction, securing Illinois' first OVW Campus Program grant, and leading the design of a holistic roadmap targeting sexual misconduct prevention,
intervention, and response.
Prior to her work at Illinois, she served as a national technical assistance provider, trainer, content creator, and policy advisor.
